Ben Johnson Interiors
Ben Johnson Interiors is a York-based commercial fit-out and furniture company, delivering workplace design and refurbishment projects for clients across offices, healthcare, life sciences, education, hospitality, and landlord sectors throughout the UK.
The challenge
Ben Johnson Interiors went through a brand refresh process with their graphic designer, Danny Ramsden at Droid Creative and needed a website that expressed this new direction with confidence, made full use of their strong photography and video library, and remained accessible to all users. As a growing company adding new sectors over time, they also needed their in-house team to maintain that brand across their website consistently themselves, without relying on a developer for every new page.
The solution
We built the site around bold colour blocking as per the new brand guidelines, paired with Ben Johnson Interiors’ existing library of high-quality photography and video, to bring their refreshed brand to life. Throughout, we maintained full WCAG compliance, ensuring the bolder visual direction never came at the expense of accessibility.
To support the client’s long-term growth, we built a set of reusable content blocks and templates in the CMS, tied to their brand colours and typography. This gives the Ben Johnson Interiors team the flexibility to create new sector pages themselves, confident that the result will stay visually consistent with the rest of the site.
We also restyled the site’s existing case study system, carried over from their previous site, so that it sits seamlessly within the new design rather than feeling like a separate, older part of the site.
The results
- A bold, colourful brand identity is expressed consistently across the site, without compromising accessibility.
- Reusable content blocks and templates give the Ben Johnson Interiors team the flexibility to expand into new sectors and build new pages themselves, while maintaining brand consistency.
- The restyled case study system now feels like a cohesive part of the wider site, rather than a legacy carryover.
