We’ve worked with York graphic designer Doug Jones several times over the years. He came to us wanting a basic responsive portfolio site with simple navigation – an uncluttered site that would let his work speak for itself.
The site uses a ‘masonry-layout’ tiling system and touch-friendly portfolio galleries to show off high-quality images on any device respecting the available screen real-estate.
It was imperative that the site looked and felt great on a notebook or tablet, and that the site performed well in search engines. Accordingly it was built with both SEO and usability in mind, with thought given to metadata, human-readable optimised addresses and ensuring high-quality copy is used across the site.
