Animal Aid Unlimited
Animal Aid Unlimited is an animal rescue charity operating in Udaipur, India. Through their outstanding fundraising efforts, they receive thousands of online donations each week. This is helped in no small part by their hugely popular YouTube channel, where their animal rescue videos regularly garner tens of millions of views each and have been viewed over 1.5 billion times in total!
The brief
Following its inception, Animal Aid Unlimited grew quickly into a highly successful charity organisation. But their old website was starting to show its age: it looked dated, offered limited payment options for donations, and didn’t give them the flexibility they needed in terms of content management. AAU needed a modern, fully functional site capable of presenting them as a friendly organization that people wanted to engage with.
The website
Working closely with AAU, we decided early on that photography of their animals, volunteers and staff would take centre stage in the visual design. We built a high performing bespoke website based on the WordPress system, and carefully considered digital inclusion principles to ensure that the website is accessible and easy to use on any device for as wide an audience as possible.
We implemented a versatile payment system using GiveWP. With over 90,000 active installs, GiveWP is the leading online fundraising platform for WordPress. It enables users to accept multiple payment methods and provides detailed reporting and donor management tools. Integrating GiveWP into Animal Aid Unlimited’s website means they can accept one-off or recurring payments via Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal, Stripe, and credit or debit card.
It was particularly important for Animal Aid Unlimited to be able to accept recurring payments in Indian rupees: this functionality was achieved using a Razorpay integration for GiveWP.
As well as one-off or recurring donations in US dollars and Indian rupees, the site also provides a number of other ways to help the charity: supporters can sponsor an animal, memorialise a pet, volunteer, adopt an animal, or buy handmade jewellery.
The result
Animal Aid Unlimited now has a professional website that befits a major charity, featuring distinctive visual design, a flexible content-management system and streamlined online payments. Integration of AAU’s excellent photography into the site ensures that users are immediately engaged, and we produced a number of page layouts to accommodate the content that AAU want to add to the site. Clear calls to action and a versatile GiveWP payment system make it easier than ever for Animal Aid Unlimited to receive donations.
