York Mind have provided advocacy services to people in York since 1997, ensuring vulnerable people had a say in decisions made about their health and social care. From April 2013, they have started to offer a wider range of specialist advocacy services through a dedicated York Advocacy brand.
We were asked to design and build a new website for the York Advocacy in time for their launch in April 2013. They wanted an attractive site to accompany their existing logo and colours. They also wanted it to be easy to find and easy to navigate, with a particular emphasis on accessibility.
Working with York Advocacy, we produced a clear and modern design and structure for the website. We built the site using the latest coding standards, using WordPress to manage the content.
Accessibility is particularly important to York Advocacy and we made sure that the site meets the latest guidelines. It includes a text size control and an optional high contrast view for the visually impaired. The site’s structure is simple, straightforward, and easy to navigate.
