Portfolio update: web application development
Much of our work is focused on the design, coding and implementation of bespoke web applications – applications rendered on web browsers. Web apps allow websites to perform functions which go far beyond the simple presentation of information. The following projects from our portfolio demonstrate how web applications can enhance a website, improve user experience and change the way businesses operate for the better.
viamia.co.uk is an online hub for sports and leisure industry professionals seeking employment or scouting out prospective employees.
Besides integrating a PayPal payment system and designing the website for Viamia, one of our key tasks for this project was the creation of a CV builder application. The app created allows the user to create a CV by filling in a series of form fields including employment, education, hobbies, etc.
Prospective employers can view the full CVs of users who have contacted them previously, and can access limited versions of the CVs of users who have not. Users have the option to export their CV as a PDF.
TMS Development International
Corporate profiling experts TMS Development offer insights into personal, team and organisational performance in the fields of learning and development.
TMSDI commissioned us to develop a web application which would allow their clients to fill in profiling questionnaires online, thus massively increasing the international accessibility of TMSDI’s services and streamlining the consultation process by removing the need for face-to-face consultations.
The questionnaire application created is aesthetically impressive, responsively designed and multilingual, with fifteen languages and right-to-left text supported at the time of writing. Through a custom-built MVC framework, this app allows the user to input the information necessary to the completion and submission of TMSDI’s questionnaires. The system generates files to a specific format that can be used to turn the answers given into the client’s profile document.
Oui Translate is an online translation service offering users fast, professional translations of text in over 40 languages.
As part of our work on Oui Translate’s website, we developed a translation request submission application that allows users to enter the text to be translated, the language in which it is currently written and the desired translation language.
Along with the website as a whole, this app is responsively designed for compatibility with smartphones and tablets. Users can view their pending translation requests and job history through their user accounts.
The team behind online performance royalty management system Composerwave are seeking to revolutionise music publishing by creating an online database of compositions uploaded by composers and available for license to performers.
The development of a bespoke web application was required to realise Composerwave’s vision. The app allows users to upload or download sheet music, edit performance permissions, search a database of compositions and peruse linked media which the app pulls in from sources such as SoundCloud and YouTube.
This sophisticated app is responsively designed for compatibility with mobile devices, tracks income and outcome transactions using PayPal and manages Composerwave’s catalogue of compositions.
Jollydays Luxury Camping
Glamping holiday providers Jollydays Luxury Camping offer short breaks in a woodland setting near the Yorkshire hamlet of Buttercrambe.
As part of our wide-ranging work on this website, we took our online booking system application and improved its usability and integration within the site. We achieved this through a responsive redesign of the app,
